Abrantes

Abrantes is a city since the 14th June 1916 and is the head of the municipality and enjoys the influence of two rivers: the Tejo and the Zêzere (through the Castelo do Bode reservoir). Its unique soil and climate characteristics (riverside areas, pine forests and moorlands) allows it to produce high quality local products: olive oil, wine, honey, charcuterie, cheese, fruit and vegetable products. These, together with the wisdom of generations, provides a richness of flavours, presented in traditional gastronomy, sweets and delicious typical dishes.
