About us

Praça Ribatejo Interior brings you the colors, smells and tastes that evoke the life, culture and landscape of the municipalities of Abrantes, Constância and Sardoal, wich form the Ribatejo Interior region.
Our products offer you absorbing and stimulating experiences for all five senses, where you’ll find ancient memories and modern sensations that take you on a journey to a typically familiar and welcoming rural environment.
With this store, we want to do more than take the flavors of nostalgia outside the territory, so that everyone has access to them. We also want to show the best of what we do here to those who visit us, in person or virtually, and who will certainly want to repeat the experience in their homes, in their places of socialization or work, in healthy moments of sharing with family and friends.

This Praça do Ribatejo Interior is a meeting place for people:
Our excellent producers, the people of our land, the faces we see and present. People who are passionate about what they do, and who put that passion into every bottle, every jar, every package.
And our customers: “old” ones who are loyal to the quality of our products, or new ones whose curiosity and interest bring them to us. Who are enriched by the passion that comes to them, by the sensations that stimulate them.
And at this meeting point, smiles break out, connections are made, producers and customers are valued.

Being a Praça-RI customer is more than just buying healthy food, perfectly in line with the Mediterranean Diet: it’s about gaining tradition, building connections, offering sustainability and attracting genuineness. It’s about being more and better.

Who we are

We are TAGUS – Associação para o Desenvolvimento Integrado do Ribatejo Interior (Association for the Integrated Development of the Ribatejo Interior), a private, non-profit organization set up on November 26, 1993, as the result of a public-private partnership, and made up of entities from the region. Our territory of action is the municipalities of Abrantes, Constância and Sardoal, which make up the Ribatejo Interior.

We start this project in response to the need of creating and implementing a strategy for Local Development in the municipalities of Abrantes, Constância and Sardoal, and our primary objective is to promote, support and make more rational use of the potential of these municipalities and neighboring municipalities, with a view to rural development in all its components, as well as improving the living conditions of the resident populations.

Praça Ribatejo Interior is our e-commerce platform. This project was born with the main aim of helping to sell the products of Abrantes, Constância and Sardoal, and to promote and foster direct contact between those who produce and those who consume, making the products more accessible to any part of the country, including the diasporas of the Ribatejo Interior, the resident population, and networking.

The Praça Ribatejo Interior thus aims to commercialize the products of the Ribatejo Interior, with the aim of enhancing and encouraging the consumption of what is produced locally. It recognizes the potential of local production and allows small producers, who are unable to enter large distribution circuits, to have access to a wider market.

This platform brings together information on wines, olive oils, sausages, honey, sweets and jams, among other products, and will allow direct contact to be maintained, albeit virtually, between those who produce and those who consume.

Objectives

  • Promoting direct contact between producer and consumer;
  • Local production flow;
  • Promote and enhance the products of the Ribatejo Interior;
  • Stimulate the local economy.
